Otherworlders

The 3 dimensional part of the universe we can see is just a small slice of the true universe, and there are other parts of the universe that are beyond our senses, the beings from the parts of the universe we can't see are sometimes called Otherworlders but they have had many names over the years (Fairies, Gods, Spirits, etc) and the humans of earth stopped believing in them after they were blinded the “age of enlightenment” 

The otherworlders are opposed to the Jotunn and some Otherworlders are the beings that tricked the primordial into creating the universe we currently live in, the otherworlders are not all benevolent however and some groups have a history of abducting people and taking their victims with them to their own dimension where time does not always flow at the same rate as it does in our world.

In the middle of the 20th century many abductions of humans from earth occurred and were mis-attributed to aliens

Other groups of otherworlders help us however and maintain the mechanisms behind the universe allowing for our existence, ancient (and modern) pagans called these beings the gods as they control the natural forces from beyond our senses.

Different groups of otherworlders have different abilities and capabilities and some are more powerful than others, also they have a wide range of appearances when they appear in our 3 dimensional reality. They vary in ability, appearance and motivation from kobolds that live in peoples houses to grey dwarves that trick and abduct people, to gods that maintain the forces of reality and there are otherworlders that occupy all the niches in between.

There are also other worlds like ours beyond our senses in different dimensions and the otherworlders can move between them and transport people and objects between them as the dimension of the otherworlders surrounds these islands to order amongst the chaos.

The true universe is chaotic and full of conscious beings but biological lifeforms like us have only evolved to see the parts of the universe that are relevant to us but we can only exist because the most powerful otherworlders maintain our reality and fight the primordial and their jotunn children

Sometimes with the use of drugs, magic or other perception-altering mechanisms we are able to get glimpses of the universe as it truly is and under these influences people can see the otherworlders that surround us always, additionally the otherworlders can choose to show themselves to biological organisms like us if they want

Otherworlders can also be connected to certain places and things in our reality and these are the Landvættir, otherworlders that maintain and live in parts of our world, they will also get upset if their place of residence is mistreated
