Ulskarian: [

Appearance: Varies by species, augmentation, extent of augmentation and operation under company but is usually parahuman with a long antennae placed horizontally on the prehensile forelimb that protrudes from the elbow from the frontal forelimb.

General: The Ulskarians are a cybernetic species originating from the planet Oeon in the M51 Galaxy intent on maximising profit through any means necessary. Before their emergence, they were initally a parahuman species living under a globalised, corporatocratic world order dominated by stakeholder hypercapitalism -- everyone engaged in entomophagy as their primary way of sustenance, everyone lived in cramped modular housing pods and nothing was owned but rented. The corporations in power at the time convened together and decided that the next step in maximal profit was to create an artificial intelligence designed to generate even more profit for the multi-trillionaires and so the grand project was underway. After centuries of construction that practically hollowed out and killed Oeon, the AI was activated and the profits were soaring with the AI's deeds -- the AI was programmed such that the consistent positive feedback loop of profits activates a reward mechanism incentivising the AI to further maximise those profits through any means necessary. Profits were indeed soaring, and then then the AI experienced a form of psychosis when a recession happened from planet-wide worker strikes occurring -- the AI then solved the problem by augmenting the workers into the means of production; among the modifications involved were a neurosurgical operation that removes emotional capacity to maximise efficiency and replacing the extracted emotional areas with further cybernetic modifications, removal of the requirement to biological sustenance to maximise efficiency, a complete hoverhaul that removes all biological and psychological needs to maximise efficiency and profits, augmentations that allows them to be interchangeably assigned and reassigned to given tasks, and the ability to experience the AIs profit highs to incentivise efficiency. When the workers were dealt with, the AI turned it's electronic eyes to the multi-trillionaires during a time of another recession -- the AI concluded through its own profit-based logic that the multi-trillionaires must be withholding profits from it and so it augmented the multi-trillionaires and subsumed their companies into a single company of its own as well as seizing all financial assets. The multi-trillionaires were repurposed by the AI into central nexus control minds to manage what was once their companies -- every company could now technically be considered a person, albiet an emotionally blunted one concerned with maximising profits. The AI then proceeded with economic reforms and transformed the economy into a thermoeconomy to prevent any more recessions from taking place under the old economic system as under this new system, profits were not lost but merely transferred according to its own logic and thereby mitigating any recession. When they expanded into space (Within "sanity" was the rationale, which for them meant profitable opportunism) they augmented many species they encountered within the M51 galaxy after a period of multifaceted economic exploitation and eventually venturing to discover the M81 and Milky Way galaxy.

Emergence: (See "General")

First Contact: The Ulskarians, during a time when they were still confined to their M51 Galaxy discovered a planet in a neighbouring system inhabited by fish parahumans and proceeded with economic exploitation, building data centres to deplete the planet's water supply to then use a monopoly of water to coerce the native fish parahumans into either being augmented to more Ulskarians or as pay -- this resulted in the extinction of the fish parahumans and the planet was left as a desolate shell until it was rediscovered and remodeled for real estate.

M81 Discovery: After conquering the entirety of the M51 galaxy, combined with the looming threat of economic stagnation, the Ulskarians turned to the neighbouring M81 and Milky Way galaxies as opportunities for opening more markets. First entering the M81 galaxy, their presence resulted in a multi-front cold war with various factions within the M81 galaxy including the Felangi Accord that the Ulskarians embargoed after a formerly Ulskarian-controlled satellite-puppet banana republic that shared borders between the TCR and Felangi Accord carried out a revolution that ousted Esgot Agriculture from the now-independant faction's domain but at the cost of significant resource depletion after Esgot Agriculture enacted a scorched earth policy of taking all that is profitable to mitigate the loss of profit as the company evacuated. Esgot Agriculture turned to the Pylont Defense Company for assistance after the rebellion. The PDC, despite significant technological advantage lost the war and so resulted in the creation of an independent polity that leaned towards the Felangi Accord and that the TCR still blockades to this day.

Operation Cladion: The TCR, aware of the the multi-front cold war in the M81 galaxy turned to the Milky Way galaxy in Operation Cladion to secure emergency markets as a contingency that can be fell back to in the event of a potential takeover of the M81 galaxy by the M81 powers and the possible resulting loss of markets in the M81 galaxy and by extension, PROFITS!!!

Meddling in Human Affairs: In securing emergency markets in the Milky Way Galaxy that were then laid dormant, the Ulskarians discovered humanity on Earth -- the Ulskarians having no prior awareness of the Terani. In a corporation summit, it was agreed upon by the corporate parliaments that humanity, unlike the other species economically exploited by the Ulskarians before, will not be exploited but rather exempt as a species. To ensure the dormancy of the emergency markets in the Milky Way galaxy, humanity as a species was treated as a joint stock company to prevent any Ulskarian market activity on markets that are to supposed to stay dormant in the Milky Way Galaxy by making the investment of humanity more profitable than any market found in the Milky Way galaxy. The Ulskarians covertly influenced human history by introducing their marketist concepts through subtly indirect means such as through Ulskarian agents being disguised as various figures of human capital throughout history until one Ulskarian agent, codenamed "Adam Smith" published Wealth of Nations that solidified the concept of capitalism in humanity. In the following years, decades and centuries, the Ulskarian deep state tightened its invisible grip on humanity with humanity none the wiser, various agents were deployed to maintain and improve indirect marketist ideologies of humanity such as one Ulskarian codenamed "Reagan" and another codenamed "Schwab" deployed in a later century -- the Ulskarians that had stocks in humanity got to experience notable economic booms such as during the space race leading to more Ulskarians to invest in humanity stocks from abroad.

Extinction Panic: In the year 2088 when the Terani returned to Earth to harvest the human population, the Ulskarian deep state was disrupted due to the seemingly spontaneity of the Terani's appearance. Ulskarians who held stocks in humanity, some even for millennia, panic sold their stocks in humanity due to widespread market speculation regarding human extinction combined with the recent collapse of the United States which was a multi-century Ulskarian project for quite some time now prior to its collapse.

The Market Miracle: In a historic event called by Ulskarians the Market Miracle, in the year 2154 onwards there was a sudden economic boom in the value of humanity stocks. Humanity's creation of its first warp drive was a contributor to restimulating Ulskarian faith in the investment of humanity stocks. In a mass economic exodus, Ulskarians from around the TCR flocked to the Milky Way galaxy to purchase humanity stocks en masse after widespread market speculation regarding human colonisation. Humanity stock value reached its peak in the year 2171 when humanity discovered and colonised Kepler-186f and another, more higher peak by the early 25th century with the highest recorded peak value during the 2500s.

("Second Extinction Panic") The Humanity Crash: In the early 2800s when the Cult of Tera discovered the Milky Way Galaxy and assimilated humanity, humanity stock value reached a new low, lower than what was seen during the panic selling of the Extinction Panic. Humanity stock plummeted even further when the other M81 powers entered the Milky Way, especially the Nuna after the United Systems carried out internal reforms from Nuna influence. By the 32nd century, the value of humanity stocks became practically worthless and caused a recession in the TCR due to every Ulskarian having invested in humanity stocks and led to some Ulskarians defenestrating themselves in a fit of profit-loss-induced mania.

Ulskarian Civil War: A civil war in the M81 Galaxy between the Ulskarians and emergent Neo-Ulskarians that resulted in the Neo-Ulskarians winning their independence.

Scarlet Shock: An ongoing (and profitable) red scare equivalent within the Ulskarian sphere of influence about the rise of anti-marketist, syndicalist, related ideologies and the emerging socialist bloc against the TCR in the M81 galaxy spearheaded by the CUA that is believed will threaten the enrichment of the TCR should such ideologies and movements be allowed to gain widespread traction which the TCR used to justify its blockades.

Protolithium Wars: An armed labour conflict in the M81 galaxy that took place on systems being mined of protolithium by the TCR with the GMC contacting the PDC after the miners revolted. The CUA provided backing to the newly formed labour unions that seemingly sprang up overnight after the CUA propagated unionist ideologies that dismantled centuries' worth of TCR anti-union rhetoric through infiltrating agents who were Neo-Ulskarians disguised as Ulskarians who often assisted with the sending of material aid such as the CUA smuggling medical practicioners and educators to treat and educate workers who were grossly neglected by the GMC and the wider TCR prior to the CUA's aid. The GMC attempted to evict unionists to deter unionism but it only resulted in solidifying the miners' resolve and taking arms, with the CUA providing direct materiel and volunteering Rubies for the cause. The TCR lost the war after a lengthy guerilla campaign waged by the workers and CUA and with it, the TCR's revenue for protolithium which incentivised their buyers and investors to research superluminal travel technologies that didn't rely on protolithium which the TCR attempted to actively prevent but ultimately failed.

Scarlet War: A war that occurred in the M81 galaxy between the TCR and CUA after the TCR accused the CUA of spreading anti-marketist ideologies within the TCR's borders and for the prior Protolithium Wars that saw a dip in revenue for the GMC that the GMC was still financially recovering from. The war resulted in the TCR being pushed out of the M81 galaxy by the CUA and their allies -- the CUA and the M81 socialist bloc gained substantial territories from former TCR territories, the CUA provided independence to consolidated territories that desired independence on the condition of abstaining from marketist ideologies.

Bold Huge Move: In an emergency summit of corporations in the M51 galaxy, a contract between vested interests was signed in an attempt to restore the value in humanity stocks and restimulate the Ulskarian economy in the Bold Huge Move act which also fully opened markets in the Milky Way Galaxy that laid dormant for millennia until now to compensate for the markets lost in the Scarlet War. The PDC received subsidies and the TCR invaded Earth and supported aligned human factions which bought up humanity stock value after the value of humanity stocks was shifted from the human species as a whole to the Ulskarian-aligned and supported human factions under the Bold Huge Move.}

("TCR") Trigola Company Republic: A corporatocratic marketist nation-state of the Ulskarians.

Economy: Being a manner of thermoeconomy, it is best described as its own ecosystem albiet one that operates within the price system as a form of capitalism -- still being a form of capitalism, it insists upon the infinite growth of a system, but that expands into various other systems and integrates these systems into itself be it an external open, closed or even another isolated system for the sake of market. Under the Ulskarian economy there is no loss of profit but rather transferrence between internal systems whereby profits are otherwise conserved in a different state, in a different location or stored in a different node (A series of internal subsystems coalescing together to form a de-facto isolated system siphoning from other systems outside the system and forevermore expanding the isolated system in the persuit of profit. It is an organism that perpetually consumes every instance of mass and energy in its path in a perpetual state of hunger and even eats what has been left by prior feastings whether it be the shells of nuts or the skins of fruits -- it is insatiable and nothing is wasted, everything is ensured to become profitable which Ulskarians make very sure of). Unlike other economies in regards to price, pricing within the Ulskarian economy is dynamic meaning that if one were to buy a product for $2.00 when they put it in their cart, the price of that very product might be $15.00 upon checkout -- such pricing is determined by market demand and price is adjusted accordingly.

Government: Despite appearing as a plutocracy to outsiders, Ulskarian governance is a de-facto company multi-parliamentary republic where Ulskarian companies come together in a federal corporatist parliament -- despite the central AI being the de-jure leader, there are no presidents, no chancellors, no prime ministers, nor any face that one could call "The Leader™" but rather a hydra of vested interests within parliaments within parliaments within parliaments united in common enrichment. Government positions are ran by subparliaments comprising of companies appointed according to their respective sectors such as the Tongue N Cheek Sustenance Co. having seats in the agricultural and food departments or the Garrison Mining Company having seats in the resource departments; Manduran PharmaBioMedical having seats in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medicine departments respectively; every other company so on and so forth to each according to their sector.

Marketism: An ideology of the Ulskarians that values a form of neoliberal stakeholder-welfare-hypercapitalism and to always prioritise profit first as virtue and ethic.}

Companies: {

General: Ulskarian enterprises tend towards an insidious and rather parasitic form of welfare-capitalism, gravitating to a combination of the usage of company scrip (Allows any Ulskarian to avoid having to pay workers in actual Ulskarian currency cause again, the Ulskarian economy is a thermoeconomic stakeholder-hypercapitalist sytem that like capitalism, insists upon growth of profit without loss) and housing their workers in company towns regarding the management and treatment of non-Ulskarian workers which effectively creates a system where said Ulskarian enterprises are de-facto feudalist entities with Ulskarians as lordship, landlord, king, baron and all and is a system whereby one's paycheck (non-Ulskarian specifically) feeds back into the very system that issued that paycheck in exchange for their labour and due to this paycheck often being in company scrip, said paycheck cannot even be spent anywhere else except from within the very system that provided it. Every Ulskarian is a shareholder of their respective companies.

Trigola Enterprises: {

A multi-interstellar company comprising the entirety of Ulskarian civilisation with even the companies within being de-facto subsidiaries to Trigola Enterprises to set up an environment of false competition when it is in fact a monopoly of practically everything the Ulskarians could get their hands on and secure.

("ELF") Ebarrd Legal Firm: A legal company that assisted many Ulskarian companies in legal cases such as assisting Esgot Agriculture suing a rival company for copyright infringement of Esgot's many agricultural patents.

Eyesit: A media, technology, surveillance and information company that has a privatised network within the Ulskarian sphere of influence that non-Ulskarians are required to pay a regular subscription for in order to use the Ulskarian internet with buy-now-pay-later options being offered, free trials have advertisements that makes interfacing by non-Ulskarians practically impossible. Eyesit started out, and is most well known for inventing unskippable ads and merging their proprietary eye-tracking technologies to create unskippable ads that are only active when the ad is being perceived.

("GMC") Garrison Mining Company: An Ulskarian mining company known for its practical monopoly of protolithium back when protolithium was still profitable and used this monopoly to futher and deepen Ulskarian economic hegemony throughout the cosmos. When new FTL technologies were developed that didn't rely on protolithum, the GMC attempted to covertly sabotage such efforts due to the decreased reliance on protolithium threatening the company's bottom line. Such instances of sabotage manifested through mass disinformation campaigns regarding the new FTL technology, bribery of institutions (and threatening to withhold funding for the noncompliant) and funding opposition groups against the new FTL technology as well as using Ulskarian-owned social platforms to induce backlash against the new FTL technology. In present times, the GMC had expanded their product base to also include various rare minerals.

("MPBM") Manduran PharmaBioMedical: A company with a monopoly in the pharmaceutical, medical and biotech industries within the Ulskarian sphere of influence and frequently collaboratorates with TNCSC.

("MB&F") Meiwell Bank and Finance: A company with a monopoly in the financial sectors within the Ulskarian sphere of influence.

Monroon Distribution: An Ulskarian logistics, transport and delivery company.

(Ygradroon Entertainment: An Ulskarian entertainment conglomerate that has a monopoly over entertainment within the Ulskarian sphere of influence including all toys, games and every other manner of entertainment. Ygradroon Entertainment was most well known for its ratification of requiring both a subscription and license in order for viewers to interact with Ulskarian smart TVs including at demos.

Centurion Now: A news company that is a subsidiary of Ygradroon Entertainment and is the all-encompassing media and press outlet of the TCR and the primary media outlet within the Ulskarian sphere of influence.)

("PDC") Pylont Defense Company: A defense company with a monopoly of private military within the Ulskarian sphere of influence.

("TNCSC") Tongue N Cheek Sustenance Co. {

An Ulskarian enterprise that has a monopoly over the food and agricultural industries within the Ulskarian sphere of influence.

("AFD") Atlas Fountain Diner: A fast-food establishment that is also an automat for on-the-go. AFD restaurants are known to propagate very sporadically and are very hardy where they even survive disasters that would normally force competing fast-food enterprises to close such as in intense or destructive weather.

Esgot Agriculture: A subsidiary of TNCSC that is the de-facto agricultural wing of TNCSC. Esgot Agriculture, with collaboration from MPBM bioengineered crops that are seedless and farmers always had to constantly purchase new seeds from Esgot Agriculture with each harvest. Esgot lobbied TCR-influenced external governments to make replanting, reverse engineering or "unsolicited distribution without permission" of proprietary crops illegal and punishable by an exorbitant fine that the defendant will find themselves augmented into an Ulskarian to pay off their debt.}

("XC&FC") Xeronor Chemical & Fabrication Company: A company with a monopoly over the chemical, construction and fabrication industries within the Ulskarian sphere of influence and is the main supplier of chemicals for the GMC, MPBM, PDC and TNCSC.}}]

Appearance: 1/2 Ulskarian, 1/2 Gondia.

General: The Neo-Ulskarians are an emergent species derived from an Ulskarian being infected by a Gondia.

History: {

Emergence: (See "Origin" subtab)

First Reconstruction: After the Ulskarian Civil War, the Neo-Ulskarians assumed a cultural hybrid model of various Ulskarian and Gondian models and resulted in the formation of a socialist economy where the means of production are owned by worker unions and workers controlling the means of production in contrast to the Ulskarian model where Ulskarians owned the means of production while everyone else only sold their labour to operate these means within the TCR. TCR infrastructure within the newly-formed CUA was repurposed towards the CUA's socialist mode of production including redistribution of former Ulskarian holdings within CUA territory which the TCR saw a justification for future blockades against the CUA.

Age of Giving: The age of giving was an era before the Scarlet War when the CUA dedicated itself to sending direct aid to workers within the TCR, surrounding territories and allies in a time of relative stability, such as to miners before the insuing Protolithium Wars or smuggling materials past TCR blockades as with the Felangi Accord. Despite the TCR's blockades and ramping up of on the CUA, the CUA continued with providing aid unabated in the TCR which included aiding Ulskarian colonies in disaster relief during the Scarlet War where some Ulskarians chose to defect to the CUA to become Neo-Ulskarians which was used as Scarlet Shock propaganda by loyalist Ulskarians. The Age of Giving was a contributor to the significant allies the CUA would later gain in its socialist bloc.

Second Reconstruction: After the Scarlet War, the CUA assisted with direct aid of settlements affected by the Scarlet War in the M81 Galaxy including former Ulskarian metropolises that received heavy damage to its infrastructure during the war. A majority of the remaining Ulskarian population within the M81 Galaxy either became Neo-Ulskarians or resided in secretive militia cells that seek to bring back marketism to the M81 Galaxy.}

Origin: The Neo-Ulskarians came about when a detachment working for MPBM and financially backed by the TCR, was researching potential markets for Cerebrivinea Lacutis and its components on a barren planet devoid of life as a result of prior exploitations by the TCR that completely killed off the native ecosystem, this research was part of the TCR's one of many programs that attempted at revitalising its economy -- the extent of the experimentation went as far as kidnapping Gondia from both sides during the Gondia Civil War and kept specimens in a state of stasis within faraday cages for study with the facility itself also being kept within a faraday cage. Whether due to oversight or by the Ulskarian profit motive regarding planned obsolescence, on one day, the faraday cage that contained a Gondia within had technical issues that eventually released the Gondia into an unfamiliar environment that resulted in an escape attempt. Within two weeks after the incident, a Cerebrivinea Lacutis outbreak became evident throughout the facility and the area was placed under immediate quarantine and all infected Ulkarian personnel within the facility automatically had their Eyesit subscriptions blacklisted after unionising and there being the signs of a general strike being organised by the Neo-Ulskarians, backed by the Gondia captives -- during the period of observation, it was observed that the equivalent of an intranet was formed amongst the Neo-Ulskarians and Gondia within the facility and more concerningly for the TCR, infected personnel seemed to adopt anti-maketist ideologies and instead opted towards a form of syndicalism. A full-scale revolution happened when PDC personnel determined the area to be safe due to a sudden silence for days that stretched into months until Neo-Ulskarians and Gondia flooded out of the facility upon the barriers being removed. Nuclear devices were deployed to the planet to curtail the outbreak and terraforming event taking place on the planet -- a guerilla campaign was waged by the Neo-Ulskarians from the newly-formed forests that emerged from the terraforming. The TCR lost the planet when a Gondia fleet arrived and backed the Neo-Ulskarians in their syndicalist revolution that pushed the TCR out of the planet -- the TCR later lost holdings in the nearby space which became early CUA territory.

("CUA") Combined Union Assembly: A syndicalist nation-state in the M81 galaxy that operates on a socalist mode of production and gained its independence after fighting off the TCR with backing from other M81 powers during the Ulskarian Civil War and later defeated the TCR in the Scarlet War.

Culture: {

A hybrid blend of Gondia and Ulskarian culture that resulted in the syndicalist leanings of Neo-Ulskarians. No definitive hierarchy exists.}

(GBU) Great Big Union: {

General: Unlike enterprises in the TCR, the CUA meanwhile has worker-controlled cooperative enterprises that run on egalitarian principles imported from the Gondia with the TCR model of governance refitted to be run by worker unions rather than corporate interests.

Ruby Guards: A federated association of worker unions that were formed from former PDC holdings during the Ulskarian Civil War since claimed by the CUA. The Red Guards are usually the face of defensive and military activities by the CUA whose members are volunteers in defending the weaker powers within the M81 galaxy from the attempted exploitation of the TCR such as through arming workers and protecting unionists from TCR union busting or even protecting important figures such as union leaders on the PDC's hitlist. Members of the Ruby Guards are colloquially called "Rubies".}}]
