so called magic is the true vacuum state of the universe, the true vacuum state of reality is universe governed my consciousness and intention while the meta-stable false vacuum our universe is currently in is a universe of laws and systems, as magic is used the true vacuum state of the universe seeps into our reality and the universe is slowly transitioning to a reality of thought and intention and will

the mechanisms of magic involve selecting a superposition out of the trillions of possibilities, essentially magic allows you to make extremely unlikely things happen due to the fact that they are technically possible, and in the true vacuum state of the universe superpositions collapse based on the intentions of conscious beings

a spell is something that allows the true vacuum state of reality enter our world allowing the caster to control superpositions and make anything that is possible happen based on thier wishes essentially its making the unlikely happen, but the more unlikely a superposition the more magical power it requires

in 100 billion years the universe will fully transition over to a state where superpositions collapse based on the wills of conscious beings and this will essentially put every single person into thier own version of reality and this is how universes start with the conscious being controlling the universe as its god, the primordial is our god and was tricked into creating our reality but the primordial wants to destroy this universe but is kept from doing so by other beings we refer to as gods who are holding our universe in this superposition, our reality is a battle of will between the god who wants us to die (or become jotnar) and the gods who want us to continue and eventually to become gods ourselves once our reality falls into its true vacuum state

this is why the primordial does not like mortal beings using magic as if magic is used it accelerates the fall of the universe into its vacuum state and the primordial wants to keep the universe in its current meta-stable state long enough to destroy it and prevent it from doing the normal universe reproduction act of falling into the vacuum state and creating new gods who go on to create new universes

the reason the primordial wants to prevent the vacuum decay event from occurring is because the primordial is not satisfied with the universe as it is and wants to tear it apart and start again with "a new heaven and a new earth" and it wants to create a universe in which it has all the power over where true conscious beings don't have their own agency and as such cannot become gods
